This month State Street Theater (SST) Radio Series will feature online, Baby Snooks and Daddy, Easter Suit, a fun 10-minute comedy where Daddy needs a new suit but will Snooks ever let him leave? Thankfully, Snooks asks all the Easter questions you may have, and Daddy has the answers!. The virtual show will be available for viewing through May.
Fanny Brice, the original Funny Girl from the Ziegfeld Follies, created Baby Snooks for vaudeville in 1912. Snooks and her exasperated Daddy, played by Hanley Stafford, were a perfect fit for radio and appeared on the air from 1936 to 1951.
The SST Radio Series is based on the 1940-50s radio shows. Scripts are read by actors and recorded into a show for viewing online. Unlike the radio shows of the 1940s, you'll be able to watch the show on a screen with actors dressed to their parts.
The Baby Snooks and Daddy Easter Suit Episode first premiered on April 2, 1942. The State Street Theater Radio Cast will premiere its reproduction beginning Sunday, April 4, 2021.
To purchase a ticket to this fun 10-minute show, click on the donation button on this page. After your donation is completed, we will email you a link on Sunday, April 4, which will be available to view online any time you like. Please make sure to include your email in the donation, so we know where to send the link. If you have any problems, contact us at carolyn@statestreetnewulm.org or 507-359-9990. All funds go back to support the theater and future programming.
All donations of $100 or more will receive access to the 2021 Radio Series that includes access to 5 virtual radio shows.
