At Hero's Heart Animal Rescue, every tail wag and gentle purr tells a story of hope.

In early September, we received a call from local law enforcement about a dog found on the side of the road. A Good Samaritan discovered him wandering by a bridge, clearly injured and starving. She tried to care for him for a while, but when she saw that Scudders wasn’t moving she knew she needed more help. She contacted law enforcement, who then asked us to assist.

The vet confirmed our suspicions that he had major problems with his legs. You can see just how profound the issues are in this x-ray! 

That didn't stop this boy, though. He has a drive not only to live but to THRIVE.

Vet visits, good food, an amazing foster mom named Val, and a supportive community transformed Scudders' life. He still has a long journey ahead of him (including meeting with an Orthopedic Surgeon this month), but Hero's Heart Animal Rescue is determined to see him live his best life and find his forever home!  Meet Peanut, a tiny kitten found alone on a busy street. She was hungry and lost without her momma. With a little love and care, Peanut has started to blossom. She is now growing strong with a fellow bottle baby her age in Wyoming, MN. They are known as the "Two Peas in a Pod." Can you tell them apart?
