Greetings (or as I say to the horses, “Yee Haw!”) and welcome to our 2024 Fundraiser through Give to the Max! We hope you will read about Changing Gaits below and consider us as your chosen organization to support this year. We look forward to hearing from you for GTMD on November 21, 2024, but know you can contribute to this fundraiser anytime through December 31, 2024.
On June 1, 2024, we celebrated 20 years of God’s programming at Changing Gaits, in Brook Park, MN. So many exciting things happened at the ranch in 2023, and we hope you will follow the link in this message to listen to our year-end report.
We cannot say THANK YOU enough for all your prayers and financial blessings received over all these years. We have been blessed to serve thousands of God's broken children, both young and old, through our Equine Therapy Programs, Sober Living House for men, our lift for those with disabilities, our Peer Recovery and Licensed Drug and Alcohol professionals, as well as our guided trail rides that provide unforgettable experiences amid our 80-acre ranch filled with nature’s beauty.
We have seen healing, hearts mended, and hope restored as we witness God's incredible herd of horse’s touch so many lives. Gone are Shadow, Dozer, Frisco, and Akita from our original herd. The only one left is Maggie Mae, but we continue to be blessed with new horses such as Mushu, Rev, Bram, Kola, Windsong, Captain, and Lars. We hope you will read the amazing story about Paul, and how he and our blind horse Mushu are leading with blind faith to heal people’s lives. The memories and blessings here at the ranch are countless.
Our number one priority is taking great care of these animals. With constant Ferrier work, dental appointments, veterinary care and purchasing healthy feed, expenses continue to climb. The tac the horses are equipped with is constantly being checked, cleaned, or replaced, including blankets, halters, bridles, saddles, feeders, and brushes. The dollars we spend on maintaining the tac to keep our riders and horses safe to continue our therapeutic benefits, is worth every dollar.
To keep all the equipment clean and prolong its use, our goal for this fundraiser is to raise $54,000 to enclose and heat our tac and medical supply rooms. The dust and dirt from the arena are a constant battle to keep the horse equipment clean and safe. Please prayerfully consider donating this year. If you know of someone that has been helped through Equine Therapy, or an organization that would support our mission and help our cause, we would be grateful if you would share our campaign message with them.
At the ranch we like to use the saying, “many hands make light the work.” And so, it is with our success of 20 years because of your generous support and heeding these words, “But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.” (Matthew 6:3-4).
Each year millions of Minnesotans and their communities are impacted by drug use, and rural Minnesota communities face unique challenges as it pertains to substance use and substance use treatment. Treatment provider shortage in rural Minnesota exists, but Changing Gaits is well placed for helping to close the gap in educating and providing healing for those that suffer drug, alcohol, and mental abuse throughout rural Minnesota. People with these conditions are living yet lost. Trapped by so many difficulties of today’s world, we ask you to join Changing Gaits to help us fight these battles with your generous donation, today.
God bless, and we are grateful for your support.
