#Give828 isn’t like other fundraising campaigns. And that’s because the disproportionate impacts of COVID-19 on Black communities, gun violence, inflation, and social injustice that Black communities face illustrate the vital need for resources for Black people across this country.
ConnectUP! Institute is on the ground every day, ensuring our entrepreneur communities are equipped with the capital, capacity, and community to scale! Through our Lunar Accelerator, Capital Readiness Accelerator, BossUP Circles, and Integrated Capital Fund, we directly help Black business founders build their confidence to sustain and YOUR gift can help us keep doing that work!
Give 8/28 takes place during Black Philanthropy Month and commemorates multiple critical historical landmarks in Black Americans march toward freedom.
Here are just a few:
August 28, 1945: Major League Baseball President Branch Rickey met with Jackie Robinson to tell him he would be integrating into the Majors.
August 28, 2005: Hurricane Katrina made landfall in Louisiana. The storm, which devastated New Orleans, inordinately impacted many of the city’s Black residents.
August 28, 2020: Chadwick Boseman, a.k.a. our beloved T’Challa, passes away.
August 28, 2024: YOU joined #Give828 in support of Black self-empowerment through philanthropy!
