Help us meet the match and raise $100,000 for Camp Parsons
Thanks to a generous donation from an anonymous Camp Parsons supporter, $50,000 is available to match each gift and meet our goal this giving season!
Camp Katharine Parsons, donated to Phyllis Wheatley in 1956, provides a space for North Minneapolis youth to experience the outdoors and the healing powers of nature.
Community members who attended Phyllis Wheatley's Camp Parsons remember it with nostalgia, "a camp of their own", away from the city streets and the stressors of home. At camp, alumni say, they experienced things that changed their lives — and discovered their lifelong passion for the great outdoors.
Closed since the early 2000s, Phyllis Wheatley is now in the midst of a complete restoration of the property and a return to equitable outdoor access for our youth, providing outdoor opportunities for children with limited access to nature, many of whom have never seen the world outside the streets they've grown up on.
Together, we can build a generation of nature lovers and raise tomorrow's environmental stewards, community leaders, and contributors to the rise of the Northside!
We need your help to make this dream a reality — and build stronger futures for kids with limited opportunities to get outside and grow. Every dollar raised before year-end is matched — help us raise $100,000 toward capital efforts and resurrect this piece of Phyllis Wheatley history now, in our centennial year of providing lasting opportunities to our community.
