About the film: Please join us in our fundraising efforts to help complete this inspiring documentary film about the dancer, choreographer and activist Patrick Scully. This film will be for anyone who celebrates personal, artistic and sexual freedoms. Patrick's story is one of growing up gay in the Midwest in the 60s and 70s. He graduated from the University of MN and found his calling in dance and became a dancer in New York and Germany.
He has danced across the globe and then back to Minnesota. In the 80s, he founded Patrick's Cabaret and for over 20 years, the Cabaret celebrated performers from all walks of racial and sexual identities. Patrick continues to perform and choreograph at age 65. What sets Patrick apart from other queer artists is, he often performs his stories in rural venues and small towns. This film will cover Scully's career and his recent sold out show at the Guthrie Theater as well as some of his rural events.
With generous funds from contributors thus far we've filmed many interviews with Patrick’s collaborators, near and far, and we have completed most of the edit. NOW, with your support, via Give to the Max, we will use these funds to film our last few interviews and finish post production to show the world the story of Patrick's love and creativity. Thank you so much for your support!! Director, Mark Wojahn and Producer, Julie Kaupa
