This year our Give to the Max Day fundraising is to support ministry to be a Queer Safe Sober Space. This is ministry to create space for folx who are not here yet. It is ministry to all ages of folx who are queer and need a place to be without the pressures or expectations of using drugs or alcohol. It is a ministry to use our building and our resources to welcome folx who have been excluded from the church.
As we live through a time when there are mounting challenges to self-expression and self-determination, particularly for folx who are transgender, Bethel is committed to the full inclusion and celebration of people who recognize themselves to be in the LGBTQIA+ spectrum.
Bethel will intentionally and explicitly use our space to allow sober queer folx to determine what they need from a church. We will offer space and staff support for this group of folx to use our space and we will walk alongside them in their journey.
The funds we raise will be matched 2:1! For every dollar you give, we will receive $2 in matching funds!
