Evie's Birthday Wish to Fly

Shadow puppets and sand drawings trace across the fabric as an artist who began terrified a few weeks ago executes a stunning shape in the air, an improvised melody hummed around them. An artist tells me this workshop makes them feel they're forming a new relationship with their body, and it feels like electricity. This is "a playground for adults. This is the type of intentional community I've been looking for." 

I love nothing more than holding space for collaborative making. And the thrill of giving artists a new storytelling tool- one so daring and visceral- I believe it's going to unlock some important stories for all of us. 

We've been exploring aerial theater since 2015, but aerial insurance increases the Sandbox budget exponentially. Please help me sustain teaching this artform to more people in the community- I know there is still untapped magic in turning off gravity.
