Join Alyssa to Support Hunger Relief in Minnesota

Alyssa Rebensdorf here.  As you may know, I serve on the Board of Directors for the Foundation For Essential Needs (FFEN).  FFEN is a local non-profit organization with a small footprint but a BIG statewide impact in the work to bring fresh and healthy food to Minnesotans in need.  

High grocery prices and housing costs are forcing more Minnesotans to turn to food shelves to meet their food needs. Food shelf visits across the state have risen over the last year and nearly doubled since 2020.  That is a sobering but very real statistic and experts in the hunger relief sector do not expect this demand to subside anytime soon.

To meet the increased demand, food shelves turn to the Foundation for Essential Needs for guidance and support. FFEN partners with food shelves across Minnesota, helping them make strategic improvements and increase efficiency to meet their community’s growing need for food.

When you support FFEN, you are a key ingredient to helping 300 food shelves serve over 225,000 Minnesotans who rely on them to feed their families each month.

Your donation will:

• Help food shelves secure and manage fresh, perishable foods including fruits and vegetables, meat, and dairy.

• Guide food shelves to strategically source food while reducing costs.

• Create more opportunities for people accessing food shelves to select the food they need for themselves and their families.
