$6,000 goal

WCCA has secured 95% of the agency's budget for 2025, and we need help raising the final 5%. The Board has accepted the challenge of raising $50,000 before December 31st, and the Staff are being challenged to raise $6,000. This money will make a difference in the lives of our clients and our entire community.

I am challenging everyone I know to donate $1.00 toward our goal, every cent/dollar is appreciated. This is an opportunity for friends and family to participate in the rewarding act of giving to a cause that is close to my heart. We are helping to continue the dream of a poverty free society and a company that was big part of my Mom's life through the Head Start program. Thank you to all advance that can help us meet this challenge!

Below is a table of the Major Goals and Initiatives that may be supported through this fundraiser!

Program

Major Goals/Initiatives with $

Head Start

  • Raising-A-Reader restock and refresh supplies

Rapid Rehousing

  • This new program requires non-federal match to triple our capacity to serve Wright County residents who are experiencing homelessness. Donations to this program will allow WCCA to provide support services such as fiscal management tools, car repairs, bedding, healthcare, and more.

Family Resource Centers

  • We are currently developing the county’s first Family Resource Center model and will be going Mobile! The County has funded a portion of our new mobile site, but the coordination of community partners and services will take support from across the entire county.

Food Shelf

  • Head Start & HLWW Backpack Program
  • Covering the increased cost of food
  • Building maintenance and updates
  • Develop a new Nutrition Education Center

Aging

  • Educate the Community on Caregiver Support Services
  • Help provide mileage reimbursement to the volunteers who donate hundreds of hours to our community’s older adults

VITA

  • The state funding for this program will only cover volunteer coordination. However, clients need tax support outside of our volunteer season.

Energy Assistance

  • Funding is low across the state, but we still have the same amount of work. The applicants (and local utility vendors) will not receive federal benefits if we cannot process all our applications.

Foreclosure

  • Requests for counseling are increasing. The State funding we receive covers about half of the current need. Additional financing will prevent staff from having to turn clients away due to a lack of capacity.
