I'm so proud to be a few weeks from my one year anniversary of working at the Minnesota Center for Environmental Advocacy. Everyday I get to see the impact of our work defending Minnesota’s natural resources and the health of Minnesotans all across our state.

Before I got to work at MCEA, I’d never heard of it! Yet MCEA has been a part of the biggest climate victories and the most critical environmental litigation in Minnesota. Remember the speculative PolyMet mine proposal that seemed inevitable ten years ago? MCEA challenged their dangerous proposal every step of the way and sent them back to the drawing board. Familiar with the 100% Clean Energy Law and the PFAS non-essential use ban passed in recent MN legislative sessions? We helped get those to Governor Walz’s desk.

So today, on Minnesota’s annual day of giving, I ask you to support our work as we fight for clean air and water from the North Shore to the Karst region. Do it for the bees, for the trees, for the soil, for the water, for the Mighty Mississippi and the Boundary Waters and “the Big One!"

For some motivation, here's some of my favorite photos I've taken of our state in recent years. (but cover photo is courtesy of my good friend Emmett Orgass!)

Everybody loves the comfrey in our backyard pollinator garden in South Minneapolis.

Okay, this is actually from Wisconsin's North Shore...

The Big One from Duluth's shore after grabbing an ice cream cone at Crank and Dasher before Grandma's Marathon in June this year.

We-no-nah doubles as a drying rack on Saganaga Lake ("up 'dere by the border, eh?") back in 2021.
