One of our longtime club members, Bill Dooley, was a passionate advocate for biking, transit and walking sadly lost his battle with cancer in December 2022. Bill served as our equity liaison for many years. His family has graciously requested that memorial donations be made to our club and/or the Bicycle Alliance of Minnesota. The Major Taylor Bicycling Club of Minnesota was founded in 1999 and is named for Marshall "Major" Taylor who in 1899 became the first African American cycling World Champion in the 1-mile sprint.
