Build your community by helping to build homes!
How does this impact you, our donors, volunteers and supporters? By working with Habitat for Humanity in your own community and in the communities that surround you, you are strengthening the ties each family feels toward their neighbors. You are also strengthening the families themselves by providing a stable, safe environment that they can afford. A recent Wilder Research Study, which surveyed all Minnesota Habitat partner families, demonstrated what we have already been told by our partner families: they are safer, happier, healthier. Their children do better in school, the parents do better at work, they feel more connected to their communities. When a child can feel comfortable inviting a school friend home FOR THE FIRST TIME, what does that do to their self confidence? When that same child can have a pet, FOR THE FIRST TIME, what does that do to their connection to the world around them? How does that help them become better stewards of the world, having that responsibility for another life? And how does it make the folks that help build and fund that home feel, when that same child thanks them at their home dedication event? It is an amazing feeling.
We are building in Virginia, Mt. Iron, Cook, Chisholm and Hibbing right now! Get that amazing feeling, call Susan at 218-750-2611 or email her at [email protected] Not near by? Not able to help build? We invite you to join the team at North St. Louis County Habitat for Humanity by making a tax-deductible contribution to help provide hope and solutions in the lives of families in need in 2015-2016. Will you join us in helping your neighbors in need of a hand up this year?
