WSP Pride

West St. Paul Pride (WSP Pride) was created in 2019 to celebrate the LGBTQIA+ community in and around West St. Paul. We will continue that celebration. We will also work year-round to maintain a welcoming and affirming feeling within the city of West St. Paul for the LGBTQIA+ community. What started out as a last-minute gathering in a park with a grill and some hot dogs has turned into a two-day-long celebration with entertainment, vendors, and folks from our neighboring suburbs paying us a visit to soak in the love, support, and acceptance for the LGBTQIA+ community. We're here to always keep supporting the LGBTQIA+ community and we only have visions of doing even more. 

We wanted to set aside an intentional budget item to support the LGBTQIA+ students in our community. Supporting LGBTQIA+ students and lifting up their voices has always been near and dear to our hearts, and we can't do that without the support of the LGBTQIA+ staff that connect with them every day. WSP Pride wants to help foster this as much as we can. 

With this Give OUT Day campaign, we're aiming to raise enough money with the goal to help with the following:

1. Button maker for students and staff to use through the school district's GSAs, Queer & Ally meetings for adults, and the LGBTQ+ Parent & Guardian Group. 
2. Funds to cover the cost of substitute teachers and transportation to travel to Q-Quest during the 2024 school year. 
3. Stretch goal: Helping out with unofficial school district 197 swag to sell at WSP Pride and other spaces to raise more funds for our GSAs. 

Whatever you're able to give, we truly appreciate it from the bottom of our hearts. We're excited to kick this effort off and can't wait to see where it goes from here. We couldn't do it without you.
