Women of Nations

Domestic Violence is one of the leading causes of homelessness among women and children.

Women of Nations is a nonprofit dedicated to providing emergency housing and support services to victims and survivors of domestic violence and sexual violence in Minnesota and surrounding states. Your donation will help women and children who experienced trauma from domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault or human trafficking. 

Women of Nations is a Native American focused organization but serves clients of all races, cultures and ethnicities. We recognize that domestic violence and sexual violence affect individuals and families regardless of their race, profession, sexuality, gender or socioeconomic status. 

We run the Eagle's Nest Shelter, a safe and secure shelter that provides support services to women and children who are fleeing domestic violence or are victims of sexual assault. The shelter has 44 beds and operates a 24/7 crisis hotline. Support services are provided that enable our clients to recover from trauma, learn skills of self-sufficiency and live violence-free lives. We offer mental health services, substance abuse services and support, educational groups, housing assistance, financial assistance and more through partner organizations and social programs. 

We have worked to become a reliable and progressive institution in the emergency shelter field. We are openly inclusive and sensitive to the LGBTQAI+ community. We incorporate trauma-informed care and culturally-informed services into our programs and services. We provide on-site mental health and substance abuse support staff. 

We were one of the first emergency shelters in Minnesota to allow pets and service animals to be housed with their owners.
