Enhancing the social, civic, and educational framework of the city.

The Woman's Club of Minneapolis is a welcoming gathering place for people of all ages and backgrounds and has been a force for good in our community since 1907. Our membership is constantly evolving, creating a vibrant environment for civic, social, and business relationships. Underlying this is our historic mission for improving our community through the enhancement of the social, civic and educational framework of the city.

The Woman’s Club creates the community we all want to be part of — a community that is safe, engaged, and supportive, and that recognizes that education is key to systemic change. By focusing on four priorities — individual and community safety, food insecurity, community engagement, and essential human needs — The Woman’s Club enhances the vitality and livability of the city of Minneapolis.

Individual & Community Safety

National Night Out: Brings neighbors to The Woman’s Club every August to strengthen relationships in the community.

People in Parks: Sponsoring free programs to bring people back to Minneapolis parks, including music concert series in Loring Park throughout the summer, as well as youth theater performances in Loring Park and Chute Square Park.

Food Security

Involve MN: This nonprofit, which prepares and delivers meals to the unhoused in our community, leases The Woman’s Club’s kitchen seven days a week to ensure that some of our most vulnerable neighbors do not go hungry.

Partnering with Schools: Schools such as Emerson Dual Language School (part of Colectiva de Educación Bilingüe) are blocks from The Woman’s Club. Members of the Club sponsor snacks for students and a monthly meal for Community Conversations and host convenings, with food, at The Woman’s Club.

Civic Engagement, Arts, & Culture

Community Forums: Though the Club is nonpartisan, we offer spaces for community forums such as the city council candidate forum or the city budget talk.

Education: Offering accessible education opportunities in the community through series such as Great Decisions, speakers, and our neighborhood partnerships with local schools.

Ard Godfrey House: The Woman’s Club restored the city’s oldest surviving wood frame house, located in Chute Square in Northeast Minneapolis, and has cared for it and offered free tours since 1976.

Music at the Club: Contributing to the integral arts community in the Twin Cities is important to the Club. We aim to provide an accessible space for artists to perform and creatively experiment with their craft. We cherish our partnerships with resident artists Lori Dokken and Connie Evingson who perform here monthly. As well as other arts organizations such as Lakes Area Music Festival and other group series.

Visual Arts: Year round at the Club you can find a rotating free art exhibit in our Dining Room from local to regional artists. These works are always available for your viewing and your purchase. The Club also owns many beautiful and historic pieces of art hung around the building.

Theater: Our 620-person theater is a hidden gem in the Twin Cities that has hosted everything from sold-out concerts to comedy shows, to theater performances. We value our partnership with Sue Mclean & Associates for our ongoing partnership with event booking for our spaces. As well as local partnerships with artists looking for the perfect space for their performance. The Club also sponsors youth theater programs in the summer.

Essential Human Needs

Drives for Impactful Organizations: We value of partnerships with different impactful organizations in the community and look to collaborate on different drives or projects when possible. Some examples of this include Dunwoody College of Technology, Tubman, and Heroes and Helpers.

Connecting with Schools in the Community: We are excited that we get to work with schools in the community on drives and fundraisers that positively impact their organizations are ours. From clothing drives for young professionals, school supplies for children, to everything in between. Some of our partners are Emerson Dual Immersion School, Dunwoody College, and Minneapolis College.

Amplifying Non-Profits: We are proud of our diverse and impactful membership - an important part of that being our       non-profit organizations. Check out our other non-profit members below.
