As we near the final days of 2024, WE WIN Institute has a lot to celebrate!

During Black History Month, WE WIN supported one of our scholars who wrote a book entitled, “A Book of Poems Written by an Eight-Year-Old.”  It is a compilation of poetry about his favorite things including his passion, which is soccer.  We brought the community together for a meal, an author’s reading, and book signing.

Our summer program brought together 125 children and youth to find joy in learning about their rich history and culture, supporting their love for themselves and for being Black.

The WE WIN Garden flourished with our children participating in every aspect of the garden from seeding to harvesting to prepping to cooking to eating. Local Black chefs showed our children how good vegetables can taste!

A table full of Legos became robots that our children learned to move using iPads.

Older children brought Black-authored books and read them to the preschool-aged children at La Crèche Early Childhood Center.

Community Specialists provided opportunities for our children to drum, dance, read, and move their bodies through energy work and yoga. Doll maker Robin Hickman handpicked dolls and Author Leah Henderson signed books for each child to take home.

Your participation in the WE WIN Village helps make this possible!

As we transition to fall programming, we are also preparing to transition to our permanent home. Thanks to appropriation funding from the State of Minnesota, we are on our way to creating the WE WIN Village, a space for our children to succeed academically and socially.

To make our vision a reality, our village needs you!

Please consider making a gift to address educational disparities and help Black children reach their highest potential.  Your financial support brings rich opportunities and most importantly, joy in learning, to our children.

"Your voice is your superpower. WE WIN is helping these young people find their voice and understand what their superpower is so they can go on and reach their full potential." - Greg Cunningham, Chief Diversity Officer, US Bank
