We know that $28,000 is a huge ask, but given the financial challenges that our district is facing, this fundraiser is very important for our school. 2024 GOAL: SUPPLIES for LEARNING 

Washburn uses Give to the Max as our main annual fundraiser for academics. We have many needs above & beyond what our Minneapolis district budget can provide. Your help will increase opportunities for our Millers to have the best tools, programs and materials to maximize learning!.Thank you so much for your support! 

This year, your donations will support:

Instructional Tools

Our teachers use (or want to use) many resources that are not district funded. A few of our favorite software options include EdPuzzle, Quizlet, DeltaMath, GimkitPro, Rosetta Stone and GarbanzoPremium. We also need supplemental resources like NewYorkTimesUpfront.  

Art & Science Classroom Supplies

While all courses need supplies, our Art and Science departments have much deeper needs. 

Visual & Performing Art class supply needs include increasing our music repertoire, software tools to support instrumental learning and songwriting, and a range of art supplies for new projects. 

Science class supply needs include Earth & Space Science supplies for our new 9th grade course, support for field trips to do science in the real world, and additional scientific hot plates. 

Technology

Washburn needs to replace calculators, headphones, microphones and other items that we don't want to ask families to pay for. This is an important way that our families with means can support those who struggle. 

Programs & Platforms

We have several school-wide programs and software platforms that support all students/families, including Project Success, MyConferenceTime.com and TurnItIn.com, etc.  These all have annual fees that are not paid by the district.
