VEAP has been providing healthy food and critical resources to individuals and families in the South Hennepin County community for 50 years. Food pantry visits have now soared to all-time highs, and our state is on pace for its hungriest year in decades.

Coupled with sky-high grocery prices, many local families are struggling with empty cupboards. VEAP alone served 200,000 people with food last year. With inflation, Feeding America now estimates the average cost of a single meal in Minnesota is $4.23. 

Our food pantry is now distributing nearly half a million pounds of food right now, every single month. That equates to over 400,000 individual meals for local families—every 30 days. Without that assistance, the families who visit us all say the same thing: they would be going hungry, unable to afford groceries.
