University of Minnesota Alumni Association

An independent organization dedicated to connecting alumni, students, and friends in support of the U of M and each other.

Founded in 1904, the University of Minnesota Alumni Association (UMAA) connects alumni with each other, supports student success, and advances the University of Minnesota. Members and donors make Alumni Association programs strong and ensure that all 525,000+ alumni, as well as future alumni, share a sense of belonging to our vibrant global community of learners, makers and doers. 

Through our programs and services, we strive to create crucial experiences and opportunities that lay the foundation for lifelong success, including:

• Providing career-building micro-internships for students, equipping them with real-world skills and experience to thrive in their post-graduation careers.

• Ensuring that over 80 alumni networks worldwide are prepared to welcome and support new alumni as they take the next step of their journey, providing a global community ready to offer mentorship, career connections, and a sense of belonging—no matter where life takes them after graduation.

• Fueling the Maroon & Gold Network, providing more than 6,800 student users with access to mentoring, networking, and career-building resources from over 15,000 alumni, making connections that unlock their career opportunities long after graduation, wherever their paths may lead.
