Our Legacy

Founded in 1964 by Ukrainian immigrants in Northeast Minneapolis, the Ukrainian American Community Center of Minnesota (UACCMN) has grown into a vibrant cultural and community hub. Rooted in the traditions of the Ukrainian spirit, UACCMN champions community engagement, cultural exchange, education, and support for refugees and newcomers, helping them integrate into life in Minnesota.

Our Goals

• Welcoming Refugees and Immigrants: Providing a safe and supportive space where newcomers and long-standing members can connect, grow, and thrive.
• Promoting Cultural Exchange: Sharing Ukrainian traditions while building bridges with other communities to foster intercultural understanding.
• Strengthening Community Bonds: Hosting impactful programs, events, and partnerships that unite people and celebrate heritage.
• Advocating for Ukraine: Championing Ukrainian causes locally, nationally, and globally to ensure the struggles, resilience, and contributions of the Ukrainian people are recognized.

2024 Highlights: Building Bridges and Strengthening Connections

This year, UACCMN made tremendous strides in supporting refugees, empowering communities, and promoting cultural diversity:

• 500+ individuals served through workshops, community programs, and resource events.
• 200+ attendees participated in cross-cultural storytelling events and celebrations, amplifying voices and fostering mutual understanding.
• Countless connections were built through festivals, partnerships, and shared experiences, creating solidarity among immigrant and refugee communities.
• Advocacy efforts continued to champion Ukrainian causes, linking historical struggles with modern-day challenges and supporting Ukraine during ongoing crises.
