Your Gift Advances Black Homeownership

Bridgette was convinced she would be a renter for the rest of her life. When her grandson was born in 2020, her perspective changed. She wanted to give him a firm foundation by becoming a homeowner.

Twin Cities Habitat’s new Advancing Black Homeownership Program was just what Bridgette needed. It was designed by and for Foundational Black Americans who have faced housing discrimination for generations–and it tackles the unique barriers to homeownership that Black folks face every day. For Bridgette, it provided extra down payment assistance so she could buy her home with Habitat on the open market.

Your gift will grow the Advancing Black Homeownership Program and help turn the tide on our housing disparities.

Your Gift Builds More Habitat Homes

Bridgette was so inspired by her homebuying experience that she decided to volunteer with Habitat at The Heights in St. Paul—Twin Cities Habitat’s largest development ever. With help from volunteers like Bridgette and donors like you, we’re building 147 Habitat homes at The Heights. It’s the type of large-scale, transformational development made possible with your support of the Build Forward Together campaign.

Your gift will allow Twin Cities Habitat to drastically expand homeownership through innovative new developments like The Heights.

Note: All gifts to Twin Cities Habitat are unrestricted. They will be used wherever they're needed most.
