Greater Twin Cities Chapter of The Links, Incorporated

The Greater Twin Cities Chapter of The Links, Incorporated (GTC Links) is part of a storied legacy of service that began in 1946. As an international, not-for-profit corporation, The Links, Incorporated is one of the nation’s oldest and largest volunteer organizations committed to enriching, sustaining, and ensuring the culture and economic survival of African Americans and people of African ancestry. Across its 299 chapters and 17,000 members worldwide, The Links, Incorporated has transformed communities through over 1 million hours of service annually. Locally, our newly formed chapter continues this proud tradition, dedicating over 1,400 hours annually to addressing critical needs in underserved communities within the Greater Twin Cities.

Our Legacy of Service

Founded on the principles of friendship and service, The Links, Incorporated has spent decades driving meaningful change through innovative programming. Our members are leaders, role models, and activists who use their collective expertise to empower individuals and uplift communities. Through our five programmatic facets—Services to Youth, The Arts, National Trends and Services, International Trends and Services, and Health and Human Services—we design and implement initiatives that directly address disparities in education, health, arts access, and social justice.

Our Programs and Impact

Our chapter’s signature umbrella program centers on the arts as a vehicle for learning, self-expression, and personal growth. Through collaboration with local schools and community organizations, we deliver culturally relevant programs that integrate the arts into education and community-building. Over the past year, we have:

    •    Partnered with Roseville Area Schools to support middle school students through activities such as drumming classes, physical exercise tutorials, yoga, and mindfulness workshops—improving mental health and promoting overall well-being.

    •    Facilitated Afro-centric arts programming to highlight the contributions of Black artists and cultural figures, broadening students’ exposure to diverse artistic mediums.

    •    Organized voter registration drives to empower citizens to participate in the democratic process.

    •    Supported women’s heart health awareness through Walk for Healthy Living initiatives.

    •    Sponsored crucial community conversations about social justice, equity, and representation, including a podcast episode featuring discussions on the unique challenges women of color face in politics.

Why We Need Your Support

The Greater Twin Cities Chapter of The Links, Incorporated is committed to continuing this vital work, but we can’t do it alone. Your contributions will directly support:

    •    Art supplies and resources for youth programming.

    •    Expansion of wellness and mindfulness workshops to address mental health challenges.

    •    Advocacy initiatives to promote equity and inclusion across all sectors.

    •    Cultural and educational opportunities for children and families, ensuring a brighter future for underserved communities.

Together, we can enrich lives, empower youth, and create lasting change. Join us in transforming communities—your generosity fuels our mission and makes our work possible. Donate today to help us continue building a legacy of service, equity, and opportunity in the Greater Twin Cities.

These initiatives are just the beginning of what we aim to achieve. Our programming equips youth with cultural self-awareness, personal advocacy skills, and a deep appreciation for the arts while addressing broader disparities in health, education, and social equity.

The Greater Twin Cities Chapter is proud to uphold this legacy, making a tangible impact in our community by focusing on programs that blend cultural awareness, education, advocacy, and holistic health.
