The Gilbert & Sullivan Very Light Opera Company

The Gilbert & Sullivan Very Light Opera Company is a non-profit community theatre organization dedicated to presenting the works of Gilbert and Sullivan. Founded in 1979, it draws its cast and orchestra from throughout the greater Twin Cities area. The GSVLOC has presented all fourteen of Gilbert & Sullivan's operettas, ranging from perennial favorites H.M.S. Pinafore and Pirates of Penzance to the lesser-known The Grand Duke and Utopia, Limited. Ticket prices are kept low in order to make this enduring segment of musical theatre history available to a wide population. The company also assists schools and community organizations looking to perform the works of Gilbert and Sullivan, bringing these operettas to new generations.
