Welcome to Teatro del Pueblo, where the stage comes alive with vibrant colors, stories, and rhythms of Latinx culture. We are a non-profit Latinx theater company on a mission to promote, celebrate and preserve the richness of Latinx heritage through the creation and presentation of performing arts.

Our Mission:

At Teatro del Pueblo, we believe in the power of storytelling, art, and performance to bridge communities and foster cross-cultural understanding. Our mission encompasses:

  1. Celebrating Latinx Culture: Showcase the diversity and beauty of Latinx cultures
  2. Supporting Latinx Artists: Nurture and support Latinx artists
  3. Educational opportunities: Make Latinx culture accessible to all
  4. Fostering Cross-Cultural Dialogue: Create a space for dialogue and understanding

Current Project: Romeo & Juliet: Love in a Time of Hate

Our current initiative revolves around the creation and production of a powerful new play titled Romeo & Juliet: Love in a Time of Hate. This poignant piece explores themes of resilience, love, and unity in the face of adversity. It seeks to own Shakespeare on our own terms. Through this project, we aspire to amplify marginalized voices, challenge stereotypes, and inspire conversations that lead to positive social change presenting BIPOC artists with the opportunity to engage with Shakespeare and become conduits of the story for their communities.

How You Can Help:

To bring Romeo & Juliet: Love in a Time of Hate to life, we need your support. We are aiming to raise $3,000 to cover production costs, support our talented artists, and make this transformative project a reality. Your donation will contribute not only to the success of this play but also to the broader mission of Teatro del Pueblo in promoting cultural richness and cross-cultural dialogue.
