$5,000 Goal

When a child doesn’t have access to books, they miss out on the opportunities to imagine, learn, and grow—leaving their potential untapped and their future uncertain.

In Minnesota, over half of students struggle to meet grade-level reading standards, with reading proficiency levels in elementary schools still lagging behind pre-pandemic achievements. This gap affects many children, especially those who do not have regular access to books, limiting their ability to develop essential literacy skills.

When children lack access to books, they are deprived of opportunities to engage in self-directed learning, practice reading fluency, and expand their vocabulary—all of which are crucial for improving reading skills. Without these resources, the cycle of literacy struggles continues, preventing students from reaching their full potential. Programs like STRIDE Academy's STRIDES For Reading and initiatives to provide books to every student are essential in helping bridge this gap, allowing children to strengthen their reading skills and gain the confidence they need to thrive in school and beyond.

Access to books not only changes lives but also strengthens reading skills, giving students the tools they need to succeed academically and beyond. Your support makes these opportunities possible!

Did You Know?

  • 2 out of 5 children struggle to read.

  • 1 out of 5 have dyslexia.

  • Over half of American adults read below a sixth-grade level.

  • Nearly 1 in 5 adults reads below a third-grade level.

These are more than statistics; they're barriers to a better future—barriers we're dedicated to breaking down at Stride Academy.

Be Part of the Solution

We're on a mission to rewrite these stats, and you can help. We're looking to raise $5,000 to enrich our school library with non-fiction books and inclusive titles that represent and celebrate the diverse experiences of our students. Non-fiction resources are essential for sparking curiosity and deepening understanding, while inclusive books ensure every child feels seen and valued. Your contribution will directly impact our students' growth, learning, and connection to the world around them. Non-fiction books are essential for sparking curiosity and building knowledge, but they come with a higher price tag compared to many other genres. We’re seeking your support to expand our library’s collection of engaging, high-quality non-fiction books, as well as inclusive titles that reflect the diverse experiences of our students.

Thank you for helping us make our library a place where every story matters! Every donation helps us provide resources that inspire learning and ensure all students feel represented.

When you make a gift, you provide much-needed materials, helping more children reach their full potential and opening the minds of students through a wide variety of literature. At STRIDE Academy, our goal is to place books in every child’s hands and ensure there are no limits when it comes to access to reading materials. Your support makes this vision a reality—thank you!

Give to The Max Day on Thursday, Nov. 21st 2024.

Together, let's build a future where every child can read, learn, and thrive.
