Horses in Service for People Living with Disabilities

Thank you for your interest in Stable Pathways. We provide therapeutic horse activities for people living with physical and cognitive challenges under the careful direction of a PATH International Certified Instructor or a trained Private Lesson Instructor.

Stable Pathways offers adapted programs so all types of people can experience the benefits of horses – because horses are amazing! For a rider, the movement of the horse can improve balance, muscle tone, flexibility, core strength, focus and coordination. A person not riding, but working with a horse on the ground, will learn patience and experience increased self-esteem through that relationship. Parents have reported improved coordination, normalized sleep patterns, greater stability, and raised confidence.

It is hard to explain what really happens when people living with challenges interact with horses, but it is magic. Great gains have been made that were unexpected – as well as tiny miracles equally worth cheering. The power of the program goes beyond our clients: our horses are enriched through their training, our volunteers renewed through their service.
