St. Paul City School (SPCS) is a public, urban, PreK-8 charter school in the heart of the Frogtown community of St. Paul.

St. Paul City School (SPCS) is a public, urban, PreK-8 charter school in the heart of the Frogtown community of St. Paul. SPCS is one of a few PreK-8 schools in St. Paul offering a rich curriculum that exposes 350 scholars to the real world of college by offering one college field trip to students in K-5 and multiple field trips to scholars in grade 6-8.  Along with a college-readiness focus, SPCS's curriculum  is rich with daily character education themes which utilize the practical aspects of learning citizenship, service learning which emphasizes the value of service,  and exposure to college requirements by teaching writing, reading and math.

Three years ago, SPCS was one of the 5% consistently low performing schools in the state. Today SPCS elevated its status & made Adequately Yearly Progress (AYP) two years in a row and remains committed to repeat its success for a third year. 

Creating a Science and Technology Club at the middle school is a necessity for our scholars who continue to improve their academics. 70 out of 108 scholars  demonstrate a desire to pursue careers in science and technology in their college portfolio. Our school does not currently have the technology to support our student's passion and prepare them for their future careers.  The school has established a college readiness program that ensures that scholars commit to going to college. The development of science and technology club will allow scholars to be exposed to scientific experiences, interactive learning that allow them to compete with others who come from privilege background where exposure to science is a common practice. Furthermore, the Science and Technology club will allow scholars to practice more science before taking the new science state assessment. This club will provide students with engaging and explorations activities that make learning fun, relevant and comprehensible because of the use of interactive technology.
