St Luke's Health Foundation

Since its founding in 1902, St. Luke’s has transformed from a six-bed frontier hospital into one of the most innovative and respected multi-hospital systems in the West. St. Luke’s Health System is now Idaho’s largest health care provider, with seven full-service medical centers, more than 70 outpatient treatment facilities and clinics, and Idaho’s only children’s hospital. With more than 1,000 physicians on its medical staff and over 11,000 employees, St. Luke’s serves more than 500,000 patients each year from throughout Idaho, eastern Oregon, and northern Nevada.

In keeping with our not-for-profit mission, St. Luke’s cares for all patients, regardless of their ability to pay. Thousands of people with no or inadequate health care coverage receive free services each year at St. Luke’s. Additionally, St. Luke’s endeavors to provide cost-effective, convenient access to health care for the underinsured, Medicaid, and Medicare populations.

Programs and Services:

Children's - We receive more than 85,000 patient visits every year. More than 155 skilled pediatricians and pediatric specialists work with over 400 dedicated pediatric caregivers to provide high quality care for our young patients. At the heart of St. Luke's Children's Hospital is the belief that all children should have access to the highest quality health care services available, regardless of their condition or their family's ability to pay. St. Luke's is committed to high quality, cost-effective clinical care, advocacy for children and families, education, and research.

Heart - With more than 40 years of experience in caring for heart and vascular patients, St. Luke’s Heart is dedicated to providing the highest level of care to the people in our region. St. Luke's performs more heart procedures than any other hospital in Idaho, providing cardiac care for heart patients throughout Idaho, Oregon, Nevada, and Utah.

Mountain States Tumor Institute (MSTI) - MSTI is the region's largest provider of cancer services and a nationally recognized leader in cancer research. We provide advanced care to thousands of patients every year at our clinics. We’re home to Idaho's only cancer treatment center for children, only federally sponsored center for hemophilia, and only blood and marrow transplant program.

Patient Assistance - Imagine being ill and unable to afford gas for your car to make your daily trips to chemotherapy or radiation. Imagine missing work due to prolonged illness, sometimes for months at a time. 3,000 patients received support in 2012 through meal vouchers, gas cards, and help with temporary housing and medication. The Patient Assistance Fund can make a lifesaving difference in the lives of our patients.
