Music has a tremendous power to uplift, bring joy, to make you smile.  Each season we strive to bring a sense of adventure, beauty, and inspiration into our programs.  The Valley Chamber Chorale is excited to present our annual “Christmas at the Courthouse” concerts along with concerts entitled “Gloria!” and “Break Forth Into Singing!” in this our 50th anniversary season of making and sharing the gift of music in the St. Croix Valley and beyond.  Our concerts will be filled with amazing artistry and incredibly diverse works of music by an eclectic collection of composers from many underrepresented communities.  We are committed to our mission of “embracing the challenge of performing diverse and compelling music to stir emotions and delight our patrons.” 

Just as the Valley Chamber Chorale stands shoulder-to-shoulder, you too are part of the larger chorus that sustains us!  Your support is necessary and impactful.  Your contributions, above and beyond purchasing tickets, have helped make the VCC a leading choral arts organization in the St. Croix valley, the region and beyond.  We lift our voices together with YOU, our treasured patrons and audience members, to move forward into this, our 50th season.

Who We Are

The Valley Chamber Chorale (VCC) is a 45-voice choral ensemble based in Stillwater, MN and is recognized as the longest continuously operating music ensemble in the St. Croix Valley.  The organization was formed in 1975 as a creative outlet for adults with previous musical experience who sought additional opportunities to perform challenging choral works of all kinds.  Singers come to the VCC from many area communities in the St. Croix Valley and beyond and range in age from early 20’s to mid 70’s. The VCC performs a variety of styles and kinds of music from sacred to secular, classical to contemporary, Broadway show tunes to pop music and everything in between.  

Our History

The Valley Chamber Chorale was originally formed in 1975 as a creative outlet for adults with previous musical experience who sought an opportunity to perform sophisticated works not normally attempted by church choirs and other singing groups.  The Chorale was incorporated in 1977 as a nonprofit organization and is a member of Chorus America.  The 2024-2025 season marks the Chorale's 50th year.  Current Artistic Director,  Daryl Timmer, is now in his 9th year leading the VCC.

Music Over The Years

The strengths of the Valley Chamber Chorale lie in the immense talent and dedication of the singers and in the diverse and unusual concert programming.  All concerts are self-produced by Chorale volunteers.  Artistic Director Daryl Timmer purposely fills every concert with selections that are familiar as well as unique and less familiar.  Through creative programming, he challenges the audience to experience a greater depth of choral music.
