Who we are:

SoWashCo CARES (South Washington County Community Action Reaching Every Student) is a community-led effort to help meet the needs of our students in the South Washington County School District (ISD833). Our purpose is to provide basic needs, enrichment opportunities, and community connections to help EVERY student feel supported and prepared to succeed in school and beyond. 

It's our community helping our community!

SoWashCo CARES is a fiscally sponsored project of the South Washington County Schools Education Foundation, which is a 501c3, serving all or parts of the communities of Cottage Grove, Newport, St. Paul Park, Woodbury, Afton, Denmark and Grey Cloud Island - Eastern suburbs of St. Paul,
Minnesota.

What we do:

We meet immediate needs in real time and also help families connect to organizations that can provide more sustainable assistance. Through the SoWashCo CARES Facebook page, followers in the community can see posts requesting specific items for families in need. Requested items could include food, clothes, toiletries, gas cards, and more. In partnership with ISD833, these items can be dropped off at schools throughout the district, and go directly to the students and families who are in need.

SoWashCo CARES began with the goal of meeting basic needs for our students, so they can focus on learning in school.
