Sheridan Neighborhood Organization

Sheridan Neighborhood Organization (SNO), founded in 1999, is the official neighborhood organization representing the Sheridan Neighborhood in NE Minneapolis. At SNO, we are residents working to make sure our neighbors love where they live, work, and play.

We do this by maintaining a wide range of free programming and opportunities for our fellow Sheridan residents to engage in: from the arts, to gardening and greenspace, to community health and safety, to our built environment, to community connection, to local government - there's something for everyone. 

We historically have received base funding from the City of Minneapolis to run day to day operations including programs and events for the neighborhood, but moving into 2023 we have experienced a 65% reduction in funding. That's where you come in!

Your donation allows us to expand our ability to provide accessible and relevant activities to our neighbors in Sheridan, such as:

• Long-standing community-building events like our annual Ice Cream SNOcial, biannual SNO Ball, and the SNO Big Deal Potluck

• Official community meetings where we facilitate grassroots information exchange and decision-making about issues impacting our neighborhood

• Free food and hybrid access at in-person events
• Tabling at local events, surveys, and community listening-sessions to gather feedback on programming as well as information about our community-member's needs and wants
• An innovative Renter's Engagement & Education Program, encouraging renters in our neighborhood to get involved by providing up to $100 per month for volunteering and attending community meetings

• Greening programs like our two beautiful community gardens, our seasonal Neighborhood Clean-up Days, Invasive Plant Removal Partnership with FMR and participation in the NE Storm Drain Challenge
