Robbinsdale Spanish Immersion School PTO

Robbinsdale Spanish Immersion School PTO (RSIS PTO) is a 501(c)(3) that supports the student, staff and parent community at RSI.

The RSIS Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) organizes fundraising to support special curriculum needs and program enhancements at Robbinsdale Spanish Immersion School.

1) Intern Program: With the help of Amity Institute, the RSIS PTO sponsors 8-10 Spanish speaking Interns at RSIS each school year to enhance the language-learning and cultural experience for our children as they work within RSI classrooms for the entire school year. The PTO pays for the interns' placement fees, a small monthly stipend throughout the year, school lunches, and other associated costs. Each intern has two Host families (one for each semester) and two Support families (assigned for the entire school year) from our school community.  

2) Educational Enrichment: RSIS PTO helps purchase items or experiences that enrich learning in and out of the classroom. Examples include paying for school assemblies featuring native Spanish music or dance, technology items or programs used throughout the school community (examples from recent years include: RAZ Kids & Generation Genius), classroom supplies/Teacher Appreciation classroom funds, and funds for various grant proposals brought to the PTO community each school year by RSI teachers/staff/families.    

3) School Community Enrichment: RSIS PTO also gives money or purchases items to support the school community. Examples include teacher appreciation lunches, 5th grade farewell celebrations, last day of school celebrations, maintenance of school flower beds, and before/after school programs like Spanish Junior Great Books.
