Celebrating Music, Art, and Community! Where the River meets the Music!
In 2006, 'Rhythm of the River' made it's debut as a destination summer festival in Jackson, Minnesota. This free, eclectic festival brings music and art to Southwestern Minnesota, providing a gathering where all generations can gather with friends, meet new friends, and be exposed to new music. Songwriters from across the Midwest have been invited to participate and showcase their work at Rhythm of the River. New musicians have an opportunity to learn from seasoned artists and present their own music to festival-goers. This free festival welcomes all in a family-friendly atmosphere. Children's activities and workshops have attracted visitors from across the state.
The Mission of Rhythm of the River includes supporting a variety of music and art genres which expose festival goers to new music, singer/songwriters and cultural heritage, while giving artists an opportunity to share, display and showcase their material. Rhythm of the River gathers friends, family, and neighbors in a multigenerational setting that celebrates the beauty of the DesMoines River Valley, the City of Jackson, and the multicultural heritage that brings them together. This festival remains free and open to all who wish to attend, so fundraisers, contributions from businesses, individuals and grants are all vital to the success and future of the event.
