$10,000 Goal
The Regenerative Agriculture Alliance (RAA) was created in 2018 as the non-profit arm of a larger ecosystem designed to build a regenerative, equitable, and socially just agriculture sector. We are focused on scaling up a systems-level regenerative poultry solution that restores ecological balance, produces nourishing food, and puts money back into the hands of farmers and food chain workers. To do so requires a completely new supply chain that integrates grassroots organizing of farmers with physical infrastructure and other regeneratively stacked enterprises.
Your Donation Supports Grants for Farmers
This year, the Regenerative Agriculture Alliance (RAA) will once again be raising money to support regenerative farming practices. Every dollar raised will be funneled into a micro-grant fund, held by the RAA, that is dedicated to farmers in the Poultry-Centered Regenerative Agroforestry (PCRA) ecosystem, empowering them to make the decisions that best support their farms. These farmers, who understand their land and needs better than anyone, will be able to use the funds for what they need most—whether it’s seeds, equipment, or other essential resources. By donating, you’re directly contributing to sustainable food systems and helping build a more resilient future.
Planting Trees at the Organic Compound: Micro-Grant Project Highlight
The Organic Compound, home of the first commercial-scale regenerative poultry agroforestry system, also grows annual and perennial alley crops and has planted over 20,000 trees. As they continue stewarding the regeneration of land that was once barren from years of corn and soy, the team at the Organic Compound continues to return nutrients to the land and plant trees as both crops and riparian buffers. With funds from people like you, and distributed to farmers via micro-grants from the RAA, this year the Organic Compound was able to purchased a rototiller in order to plant more trees and expand riparian buffers, which help protect water quality and habitat. With the new rototiller, the team was able to prepare the land and plant thousands of elderberries and willows. These plantings are part of a riparian buffer along Prairie Creek, where the willows are already working to filter and clean the water, protect soil health, and support local biodiversity. This is more than farming—it’s a regenerative practice that heals our ecosystems.
For the Organic Compound, this grant is just one step in their longstanding commitment to engaging the community in land restoration. By empowering people to learn and work alongside them, they’re spreading the principles of land stewardship far and wide.
What Have Other PCRA Farmers Been Up To?
Because of the generosity of people like you, in 2024 the RAA was able to award $20,000 in micro-grants to 10 PCRA farmers. These grants were critical for farmers to build, develop, and deploy infrastructure related to the PCRA system. This year's projects include:
Farmer Testimonials
“The field that we will be planting our trees in is still in standing corn, hoping to get it harvested in the next week-ish. Right after the corn is harvested we are going to get some rye into the ground to get a cover in hopes we can retain a bit more moisture in the ground before planting the trees. Our plan is to plant dormant trees in March with the funds. We are learning a lot about tree establishment here in dry country. We are pretty excited about planting the trees and developing a new paddock which should realistically about double my production next year on the home farm.”
- AJ Granelli, Homegrown Pork & Poultry/Makoce Agriculture Development
“This is soooooo awesome. This rototiller is going to help us plant over 1,000 willows and around 1,500 elderberry this fall! We will also use this tool to prepare some of our unused ground and transition it back into production as well as smooth out some rough surfaces across the farm that are becoming difficult to manage with the mower and not break our backs.”
