REACH Inc. Mentoring Program (Recreational Experiences Achieving Community Harmony)

Mission: To provide supportive and meaningful mentoring relationships to the youth of Carlton County.

Vision: We envision a community where every youth experiences a variety of positive and encouraging relationships that provide a sense of belonging and allows each youth the ability to achieve their full potential both individually and as members of the community.

The Four Cornerstones of REACH Mentoring Program:

Peer mentoring: We work with area high schools and colleges to mentor our mentees one-on-one. The mentor isn’t viewed as another authority figure, but as a positive role model and friend.

Adult mentoring:  We match adult volunteers in the community with a youth mentee. Adults participate in one-on-one mentoring and build positive youth/adult relationships.

Group mentoring: We create group activities with mentees and mentors, based on their varied interests. Group activities have included recreational, social, learning, and service-based endeavors; from team-building ropes course, hockey games, and bowling, to activities that give back to our community. 

Community facilitators, social workers, and youth support service professionals: May refer youth to join REACH Mentoring Program, in an effort to foster supportive relationships within our community.
