Recovery Is Happening (“RIH”) is one of Minnesota’s leading non-profit, full-service Recovery Community Organizations. Founded in 2011, we connect individuals impacted by substance use disorder with personalized pathways to recovery.

Peer recovery support services are services that are designed and delivered by people who, themselves, have experienced both substance abuse disorder and recovery. They know what it’s like to be an addict, to struggle with the daily pressures and stress, to overcome the guilt, sadness, confusion, to try to find a job, rebuild careers, relationships, and self-esteem.

Calls to people in or seeking recovery to “check in” to provide support, encouragement and information about community resources, recovery meetings or other supports that may help them initiate or maintain their recovery.

Chemical health assessments are available on a flexible schedule. We offer our assessments by appointment. We want to be available for our clients when they need our help. The assessor understands that each person’s experience with chemical dependency is unique.

Advocacy. By our Silence we let others define us. Recovery Is Happening exists to save lives and improve health and wellbeing by challenging addiction related stigma and encouraging, empowering and educating people in recovery from addiction, their families and friends, and those who work with them. Our primary purpose is to spread the message that prevention works, treatment is effective, and recovery from addiction is a lived reality in millions of people’s lives.
