Ralph Reeder Food Shelf - MV Public Schools

Dear Friends of the Ralph Reeder Food Shelf,

Our Mission: To provide food and helpful resources to our neighbors in need in a manner that upholds their dignity while they work towards greater independence. 

The rising prices of both gas and food have sent many more people to our food shelf looking for help over the past year and we are currently giving out over 80,000 pounds of food to thousands of individuals each month. These families are living paycheck to paycheck and making tough decisions each day - pay the rent or put food on the table food, refill prescriptions or restock the pantry, keep the lights on or keep their children's tummies full. Unfortunately, food becomes the only thing flexible in their budget.

Our neighbors in need are now able to use our services more than once a month and we continue to partner closely with school staff and other service agencies to connect at-risk families with valuable stabilization tools.

The Ralph Reeder Food Shelf continues to rely on help from our community to provide food and personalized support to the people who need it most. 

Every year we help thousands of people by providing: 

• Easy access to healthy foods through in person shopping, curbside pickups or home deliveries.
• Schooltrition programs including, weekend Snackpacks and in-school Smartsnacks for at-risk students as well as need-based scholarships for enrichment, school lunch relief, and supplemental learning opportunities.
• School Supplies through the Good Neighbor Back to School Project
• Holiday Programs - Thanksgiving for All Project and Operation Joy Holiday Toy and Gift Shop
• Case management support based on individual need
