QUEERSPACE collective is a local non-profit serving the 2SLGBTQIA+ youth community across Minnesota. Since our launch in April 2021, we have grown from a one-to-one, intergenerational mentorship program for 2SLGBTQIA+ youth into a holistic organization providing mentorship, inclusivity training, group programming, and now, a dedicated youth center.

Our mission is to create space for 2SLGBTQIA+ youth to feel safe and empowered to be their true selves.  Our youth-centered approach not only reduces isolation and suicidal ideation but also fosters belonging, resilience, and empowerment.

Our vision is for all 2SLGBTQIA+ youth to have a supportive community to help them develop a strong sense of pride in who they are, where they come from, and where they want to go.

In the face of all that seeks to undermine us, QUEERSPACE is proud to open its doors to our new 2SLGBTQIA+ Youth Center in Minneapolis—a home for young people to be seen, heard, and celebrated for exactly who they are—without fear, without judgment.

The timing couldn’t be more urgent: Queer youth are among the most vulnerable in our society, with over 85% experiencing harassment at school (GLSEN 2019) and thousands seriously considering suicide each year (The Trevor Project, 2021). Until now, the Twin Cities has lacked a dedicated Queer youth center, leaving many without critical support.

But, there is always hope. Our new Youth Center will provide a safe, inclusive space where Queer youth can find community, mentorship, and resources. We invite you to "Create the Space" with us on Give to the Max Day. Help us raise $50,000 to show Minnesota’s 2SLGBTQIA+ youth that we are committed to their well-being, fabulousness, creativity, and futures.
