Helping People Find Hope In Difficult Times

Help us give hope to those who need it!

People Helping People does exactly what the name says ... we help people: people who are going through rough situations, people who don't have hope and don't know what to do .. or where to turn. Many of us have been in a difficult place ... sometime in our lives. What we needed at that time was someone who can extend a hand ... give us hope that things are going to be better ... and offer practical advice and solutions to the problem. 

This past year People Helping People helped another married woman escape an abusive relationship through crisis counseling, care and practical advice. Escaping the abuse is only the beginning and on-going support is needed. In addition, a referral for counseling is helping this woman on her way to a beautiful life ... without abuse. 

A young single women found herself in an unplanned pregnancy. She was working, saving for college ... unmarried with a great boyfriend ... she didn't know what to do or where to turn. Her parents were disappointed because they had high hopes for her: college ... a good career ... marriage and eventually children ... but now ... all of those hopes and dreams seemed to be shattered! Encouragement ... hope ... practical advice ... making a plan ... referral to a local crisis pregnancy center. Help with unexpected car expenses and referrals for practical help.

As we have the finances, we offer help in finding employment: gas to go to interviews, help with grooming for interviews, filling out applications, etc. We have also helped with budgeting and financial planning to persons looking for those services.

We assisted in helping a man with a green card apply for U.S. citizenship. He had been working for several years with no success. Recently we attended his swearing-in ceremony in St. Paul and were so proud of his perseverance to finish his goal! 

Please note: Our staff is volunteer so all money raised goes directly to help our clients. We are excited about the possibilities for 2025 and the people we will be able to assist. We don't provide pictures of those we help in order to protect their privacy.
