We are thrilled to ask you to be a part of our transformative non-profit organization Peace In Practice. Developed by founders Jaina Two Rivers, Chance York, and an amazing community of yoga & integrative health leaders, Peace in Practice is working to nurture a homegrown, sustainable collective of mindfulness and yoga practitioners and programs in communities of color in the Twin Cities and beyond. Our focus is healing-centered, trauma-informed, an uplifting personal development training for the mind, body, and spirit.
Winter / Spring Offerings:
Wellness Wednesday - a weekly community yoga practice and gathering at Northside Artspace Lofts, open to anyone!
200-hr, Healing-Centered, Trauma-Informed Yoga Teacher Training scholarships & high-paying teaching pathways.
Job placement for Yoga Teacher Training graduates at one of our community sites like the Boys & Girls Club, Northside Achievement Zone, high school athletic programs, and V3 Sports Center.
My Brothers Heal is a monthly group gathering for men of color. It is an empowering space for conversation, vulnerability, physical education, and support.
We're exploring collaboration with Karuna Community, an organization that serves populations in the correctional system, including juvenile centers, women's shelters, and local schools.
An advanced 300 hour certified RYT Yoga Teacher Training with subsidized/sliding scale tuition opportunities.
Full Day Rest Retreat - a partnership with Campfire Minnesota. A transformative and relaxing retreat program out in nature with workshops, yoga classes, and organic shared meals.
A pioneering Youth Yoga Teacher Training Program at local Minneapolis High Schools where students earn a RYT-200 certification, and high-paying opportunities to teach and make change within their community.
How To Support The Work
This giving season (#GiveToTheMaxDay November 21, and #GivingTuesday, December 3), we’ve set an ambitious and necessary goal to raise $8,000 to support and expand our upcoming programming and dedicated staff.
We consider it a great honor to humbly ask for your support of this work:
Donate - Every contribution, no matter the size will help us on our mission to create opportunity for people to find and develop their home in the broader wellness community.
Donors of $40 or more will receive an exclusive, embroidered corduroy PIP logo hat 🧢!
Spread the Word - Our giving season campaign starts now. Our social channels are live -@peaceinpractice - Your likes, shares, posts, phone calls, and emails go a long way to shine a light on our work.
Volunteer - We are in build mode and looking for teachers, fundraisers, capacity builders, and board members who can help us advance this work. Please reach out if you have gifts to share and a passion for youth and community development.
This work is long overdue. Thank you all so much for your consideration and support.
With gratitude and peace,
