Minnesota's largest LGBTQ+ advocacy organization.
For over 35 years, OutFront Minnesota has advocated for more inclusive LGBTQ+ laws and policies at the state legislature, built more inclusive school environments for LGBTQ+ youth, and provided a helpline and support to LGBTQ+ folks experiencing violence.
Every year OutFront Minnesota answers over 1,000 helpline calls, supports almost 300 clients, and distributes more than $30,000 in direct client assistance. When you are a queer or trans person experiencing violence, sometimes food, transportation, or healthcare costs are the first things you need to reach safety. A gift of $50 is enough to get a trans person experiencing violence groceries to get through the week.
This year, OutFront Minnesota used our financial assistance and advocacy services to help a queer single mom who experienced domestic violence. We helped her secure an apartment and buy winter clothes for her children, and now she’s able to focus on healing from trauma, looking after her kids, and studying for her degree.
But OutFront Minnesota also knows that helping individuals is only one way of addressing violence for LGBTQ+ communities.
To stop violence before it even starts, OutFront Minnesota also passes policies at the state capitol to make sure that our LGBTQ+ communities are protected under the law from violence and discrimination. We also work with educators, GSAs, and youth to build safer schools, so that LGBTQ+ students are protected from violence too.
Your gift of $50 will help OutFront Minnesota support our communities, such as by helping a queer person get emergency transportation to a shelter in the middle of winter. As it gets colder, trans and queer people all around the state will need our community support more than ever. Your donation is part of the way our community shows up for one another.
Donate today and help our fellow queer and trans Minnesotans access food, shelter, safety, human rights, and belonging.
