We are a group of beekeepers who believe in building a sustainable future one pollinated flower at a time. We started as small group in 2003 and have grown to a membership of over 170. Our club is open to all who are interested in honeybees and strive to educate our communities on the importance of managed and native pollinators. We meet at 7 PM the fourth Monday of every month at Fond Du Lac Tribal Community College in Cloquet MN and welcome new members and visitors. We seek to increase awareness of the challenges facing beekeepers, honeybees and our native bee populations. We educate and mentor those who are interested in starting beekeeping. We have a program specifically for youth beekeepers that can help them with the financial aspects of getting started in beekeeping and provide them with an experienced beekeeper as a mentor. In conjunction with the Enviromental Learning Center at Fond Du Lac Tribal Community college we sponsor an annual Bee Symposium which this year will occur on February 15, 2025. We maintain an educational Honey House at the Carlton County fairgrounds in Barnum where fair goers can sample local honey. In conjunction with the Carlton County Master Gardeners, we have developed a pollinator garden, pollinator prairie and sample bee lawn to demonstrate how landowners can add pollinator habitat to their property.
