Nicollet Knights Booster Club

Each year, 50-80 middle schoolers from Nicollet Middle School come together to make up the Nicollet Knights Chess Team with aspirations of greatness.  The Nicollet Chess Club nurtures an atmosphere for beginners and experienced players to grow and develop and learn the lessons competitive chess has to offer.  Formerly Metcalf Masters Chess Club, we have earned 29 state championships and 19 National first place finishes over the years.  

100% of each donation goes to support the program and players. Donations help offset the costs associated with the program and help the kids fund tournament costs, training costs, equipment, lessons, and other club costs.

The mission of Nicollet Knights Chess is to build character, encourage children to overcome the fear of risk taking; to teach concentration and self-discipline;  to enable children to assume responsibility for their decisions; to reward determination and perseverance; to raise self-esteem and promote good sportsmanship; to encourage socialization skills that extend across cultures and generations.
