Help Us Eliminate Structural Poverty on the White Earth Reservation

Our Mission:

Net Zero Nations is committed to creating pathways out of poverty for people living on the reservation by weaving together cultural values, eco-friendly home ownership, community solar gardens and local food production to create sustainable communities that promote generational wealth and a carbon negative world.

Who We Are:

A Native American founded and led 501 (c)(3) non-profit located on the White Earth Indian Reservation. We are a passionate non-profit dedicated to creating a lasting impact on the White Earth Reservation through a sustainable community development. Our vision is a community that thrives, not just survives—a community free from the cycle of poverty, where people have access to home ownership, healthy living conditions, renewable energy, and sustainable food sources.

Our Sustainable Community:

Income-Producing Net-Zero Duplex Homes: Net-Zero Duplex HomesWe aim to provide affordable home ownership through the construction of net-zero energy-efficient duplexes. These homes are designed to produce as much energy as they consume, providing sustainable, cost-effective housing for the community. These homes are built at cost and sold with low-interest rate loans. The rental unit provides housing for an additional family and helps to offset the mortgage, allowing the owner to quickly build equity.

Community Solar Garden: A shared solar energy system will eliminate heating, cooling, and electricity bills for the entire community, reducing financial burdens and supporting environmental stewardship. It will produce enough green energy to power an additional 700 homes on the reservation.

  • Sustainable Farming Operation: We will establish a permaculture farm with diverse elements—vegetable gardens, orchards, an apiary, chicken coops, mushroom farming, and aquaponics. This will not only provide food security for the residents, but will also provide healthy food options for the school and elder programs.

Why We Need Your Help:

To make this dream a reality, we need to secure our land base. With your support, we can purchase the land needed to develop this sustainable community.

Net Zero Nations has identified a 159-acre tract of land that abuts the main power transmission line between the two substations on the reservation and it is listed for sale.   It has enough acreage to accommodate the housing development, solar farm, and 50+ acre farming operation. The purchase price is $380,000 and the entire amount must be funded ASAP to take advantage of all federal Justice40 Initiative funding opportunities for the remaining 5 Phases of the project which are dependent on the acquisition of a land base.

You are invited to stand with us and model what can be achieved when a community unites behind the principles of sustainability, self-sufficiency, and respect for Mother Earth. Your $5,000, $1,000, $500, $250, $100, $50, $25, $10, $5 donation will help us launch this power-shifting and life-changing effort to work more effectively with an underserved community that doesn’t yet have the capacity to implement climate equity and resilience solutions.

How Your Contribution Will Make a Difference:

  • Empower the Community: By building energy-efficient housing and renewable energy systems, residents will enjoy reduced living costs and greater financial stability.
  • Promote Food Security and Self-Sufficiency: The permaculture farm will provide fresh, nutritious food to the community and create income-generating opportunities.
  • Eliminate Utility Bills: The community solar garden will ensure that all homes have free access to electricity, heating, and cooling—eliminating one of the major costs of living.

Your support can change lives. Together, we can break the cycle of poverty and build a sustainable future for the White Earth Reservation.

We invite you to join us in making a lasting difference. Every contribution—no matter how big or small—brings us closer to our goal of raising $380,000 for the land purchase.
