 The Home Buyer Training covers homeowner readiness, the buying process and money management. The pre-purchase training is often required for first time homeowners. In partnership with HAMAA, (Hmong American Mutual Assistance Association) the home buyer training is also offered in the Hmong language.

Down-payment assistance and home buyer or home improvement funds are also available.

For those who have already purchased their home, NHS provides home maintenance training, equity protection training, and counseling to promote long term successful home ownership.

The post-purchase training is a unique class offering "hands-on" experience with home maintenance. Being able to distinguish between urgent and not-so-urgent repairs can make a big difference. Being able to do minor repairs can save homeowners a lot of money, especially for families living on a modest income.
