This Give to the Max Day the eagles need your support to Feather The Nest!

In 2022, an iconic and beloved piece of the National Eagle Center was removed during renovation work. The life-sized replica Bald Eagle nest on the first floor was a staple for our guests, having been part of the Center since the current building opened in 2007. Families had traditions of taking photos in the nest. Whole kindergartens and grade school classrooms would get their photos taken in the nest. People marveled at the size and often asked, "do they really get this big?!"

Nearly every day since we re-opened in June of 2022, someone has asked our staff what happened to the nest or said that they wanted it back. And so just as Bald Eagles do, we have returned to the nest site, rebuilt, and IMPROVED the nest! Today, we are excited to announce that THE NEST IS BACK!

This new nest is located on the second floor of the Center overlooking the beautiful Mississippi River, is larger (now able to accommodate wheelchairs), and has some new educational features that the old nest did not like a dedicated screen to display feeds from actual Bald Eagle nest cams around the country!

Our goal is to raise $50,000 this November!

This November we invite you to renew your connection to the Center and the nest, just as Bald Eagles do each new nesting season, and help us “Feather The Nest”. As the National Eagle Center looks forward to 2025 and beyond, we are planning and preparing for an exciting future of new programs, exhibits, experiences, and, yes, Ambassadors!
