Welcome to our fundraising campaign for Mount Olivet Conference & Retreat Center. Your donations during Give to the Max will support our incredible youth programs! By donating today, you are not just supporting camps and retreats; you are helping to create unforgettable experiences, build confidence, and foster a deeper connection to nature for children and youth. Plus, every gift will be matched dollar for dollar thanks to three generous donors! Together, we can cultivate the next generation of leaders and changemakers, inspiring them to make a positive impact in their communities.
Overnight and Day Retreats for Youth
Mount Olivet Conference & Retreat Center is proud to host over 50 youth retreats each year, catering to a diverse range of groups—from confirmation students to college leaders. These retreats foster personal growth, deepened friendships, and spiritual development in a beautiful natural setting.
A Unique Experience at a Discounted Rate: The vast majority of our youth retreats are offered at a 10-80% discount. For example, a recent confirmation retreat for 45 youth and 5 leaders cost just $1,337.50 instead of $6,090. By prioritizing these retreats, we ensure that young people from all backgrounds have access to enriching experiences that empower them to thrive.
Nature Camps for Kids
Imagine a week where children can immerse themselves in the beauty of our woods, prairies, and marshes. Mount Olivet’s Nature Camps provide a unique opportunity for kids to engage in guided hikes, outdoor art projects, and joyful singing in our outdoor chapel. They’ll experience the thrill of gaga ball, relax in hammocks, and make memories that last a lifetime—all while enjoying wholesome meals and disconnecting from technology.
Why Your Support Matters: Each camp session is offered at a significant discount, costing just $6,800 compared to the actual value of $22,775. Your generous donations will help cover the costs of meals, activities, staffing, and facilities, ensuring that every child can participate without financial barriers. Together, we can inspire the next generation to cherish and protect the natural world.
At-Risk Youth Retreats
We believe in the power of healing and growth for at-risk youth. Mount Olivet Conference & Retreat Center hosts two-day retreats that provide a safe space for personal reflection and skill-building, led by trained facilitators. Here, youth escape their daily challenges, engaging in activities that promote peace and resilience.
Your Impact: Each retreat for 20 youth costs approximately $7,500, fully financed by the generosity of donors like you. Your support will help us continue offering these vital programs, providing hope and practical tools for a brighter future.
Nature Education Days for Students
We bring the wonders of nature to local school children through our Mount Olivet Conference & Retreat Center Nature Education Days! With over 151 acres to explore, these days are designed to ignite curiosity and foster environmental stewardship.
A Rich Educational Experience: Though the normal cost for these immersive days is $53 per participant, we ask for just a $10 contribution, thanks to donor support. Activities like sledding, gardening, and bird watching are tailored to engage students in hands-on learning aligned with school curricula.
How to Help
Thank you for being a vital part of our community. Together, let’s inspire young people to explore, grow, and cherish the wonders of creation!
A Mount Olivet Lutheran Church Affiliate Ministry:
Mount Olivet Conference & Retreat Center was established in 1976 during a time of national uncertainty and economic instability, prompted by concerns that rising gasoline prices would hinder travel to Cathedral of the Pines in Minnesota. Pastor Paul Youngdahl envisioned a local retreat space for spiritual growth, leading to the purchase of 154 acres just south of Minneapolis. Over the past forty years, the center has provided a nurturing environment for spiritual, intellectual, and emotional growth for Mount Olivet church members and various communities through its caring ministries and focus on quiet reflection.
