About Mississippi Park Connection:

Mississippi Park Connection is dedicated to preserving the Mississippi River's resources and providing enriching visitor experiences in the Mississippi National River and Recreation Area. Our philanthropic partnership with the National Park Service ignites discovery and lifelong relationships between people and the Mississippi River.

Many words come to mind when I think of the Mississippi River: Big, Mighty, Majestic. Yet even these impressive words fail to describe what is the lifeblood of our nation.

In the autumn, the daily changes on the river practically scream for attention. The rustling of the cottonwood leaves, with their distinctive crackle high above beckon us outdoors. It’s the time of year when all the hard work is finally paying off. 

Last month alone, nearly 2,000 elementary school students attended school field trips in the Mississippi National River and Recreation Area. Your support is providing scholarships that create life-changing experiences in the Mississippi River’s National Park.

This fall, volunteers are planting 1,200 trees to enhance forest canopy, and on the days when we are not planting, we are watering trees that have been patiently waiting for rain. This work is made possible by your financial support.
