Creating Opportunities for Post-secondary Enrollment for all Youth.

 

Mission Statement:

Minnesota COPE Program is an educational program dedicated to assist underrepresented scholars in attaining educational opportunities, key resources, and financial support necessary to attain their highest academic, personal, and professional career goals.

 

Purpose:  

COPE’s purpose is to provide resources and academic scholarships to college-bound students attending public or private high schools in the Twin Cities metropolitan area, and students attending college. Our objective is to assist Scholar with programs and activities preparing them for successfully transition to post-secondary educational programs of their choice.

 

What We Offer:

  • ACT/SAT college-preparatory classes offered by Hamline University  (Saint Paul, Minnesota), local high schools, and community organizations;
  • Field trips, college fairs, and college tours;
  • Financial-aid workshops, financial planning and/or financial literacy seminars;
  • Health and wellness seminars;
  • Volunteer community service projects; and,
  • An Annual COPE Scholarship Celebration/Fundraiser to recognize Scholars’ outstanding accomplishments.

 

Goals:  

  1.  Involve community Scholars in activities which   prepare them for post-secondary enrollment.
  2.  Coordinate and engage Scholars with volunteer community service opportunities to enhance their leadership skills.  Minnesota COPE Scholars are           required to complete fifty hours of volunteer community service each fiscal year.   
  3.  Raise funds annually to support scholarships, gifts, and awards for community youth who are attending high school and college.

 

Some of the ways you can assist Minnesota COPE Program in raising funds:

     1.  Donate to United Way or Community Shares of Minnesota, where you can change your designation(s) at any time;

     2.  Give through PayPay at any time, which is quick, safe, and easy as well giveMN.org;

     3.  Attend Minnesota COPE Program's Annual Scholarship/Gala Fundraiser in August of each year.  We encourage you to invite your family and friends;

     4.  GoFundMe Fundraiser from August through October 2024; 

     5.  Give to the 'Max Day' in November of each year, where you can give at:  giveMN.org;   

     6.  GivingTuesday is on December 1, 2024; 

     7.  An end of the year pledge/donation should be given before December 31, 2024; and

    1.  Funds raised in Mississippi will assist students attending Jackson State University (JSU).
